Recipe Notes

How to cut a pineapple: Grab your bread knife. Cut the tops and bottoms off. Then, stand the pineapple up so you can slice the skin off from the top down, in a curved shape, working with the shape of the pineapple itself. Cut down in strips all the way around till no more skin is left.

Next, you need to get the hard core out of the pineapple. Still standing up, cut it in half vertically, and then cut each piece again in half, so you have four tall strips of pineapple. That leaves you with four pieces of core in middle of each strip. So, from the top down again, put your knife on the pointed corner, move it back about two inches or where the core seems to end. You'll be able to feel that the core is harder than the rest of the pineapple. Cut down, and again with a bit of a curve, working with the shape of the pineapple. Repeat till all 4 pieces are done.
